Happy New Year Loves! 🎉❤️ To bring in the new year, my sister and I decided to create vision boards to bring in the new year. I wanted to share with you all my goals for the new year, in hopes that it will inspire you all to not only create goals for yourself, but be able to visualize them because I feel when you plan and visualize it, it motivates you to actually achieve those goals.
PREPARATION
Here is the supplies list for the Vision Board:
- Cork board ( my sister and I got ours from Walmart for about $8)
- Thumb tacks
- Scissors
We chose to do it this way because it’s reusable, less messy, and easier to hang up. But if you prefer to do it the poster board way, you will glue sticks to glue the pictures down.
We came up with our own categories, and used Pinterest to find our photos. After that, we cropped and edited each photo, and printed them out at CVS. I recommend any place that lets you print them out right there, instead of waiting for next day prints.
My vision board was organized into five categories: health, self care, love, travel, and God. I included a couple of home decor photos because I really want to make my apartment more aesthetically pleasing.
HEALTH
Health for me includes the gym, and healthy eating. I have been vegan now for the past year and a half. But like most Americans, it’s hard to prioritize healthy eating when you spend the majority of your day at work. It’s even harder when your meals mostly consist of vegetables. But, I plan to start meal prepping, to combat the lack of time to cook and blend fruits. I started my gym journey back in 2022, but I was never consistent. Since September 2023, I have been going to the gym three times a week. My goal for this year is to incorporate weight training into my workout plan. I tend to avoid the weight training side of the gym, but my plan is to create a weight training schedule for myself, so that I am comfortable and not intimidated. I also want to start doing yoga more frequently, and take pole classes to help build muscle.
SELF-CARE
For my self care goals this year, I want to prioritize taking myself on more solo dates. I spend so much time focused on my career, goals, and relationships, that I never leave room to date myself. I want to be so intune with myself that going on solo dates will be something I look forward to, and not feel self conscious about. Some examples of dates I want to go on are to the bookstore, and on a solo picnic. I also want to be more organized because to me planning out your day, and romanticizing the little things like that is a form of self care.
LOVE
Though it was a very small section of the board (that means he is doing something right lol), I want us to prioritize spending more quality time together. We both have such crazy schedules that we never have time to read together, or just take long walks in the park. I don’t want anything extravagant, I just want more intimate moments.
TRAVEL
This is a big one for me because I love to go to new places. One of my biggest goals this year is to finally get my passport and go to Jamaica for my 24th birthday. I also want to take a road trip because every trip I’ve been on since like 2022 has been by plane, so I want to experience another road trip this year, hopefully to one of the Carolinas just because they have nice beaches, and they are fairly close.
GOD
My relationship with God is another big one for me this year. I really want to start studying the Bible more. I’m already in a Bible study group at my church. I just want to learn to trust him more, and that can only happen if I truly get to know him.
My goal for a “A Feminine Space” is to build a relationship with my readers, and continue to inspire, and help you by sharing my own personal journey and experiences. 2024 will be a great year, so claim it, and if you need a reminder, MAKE A VISUAL!
